Mom,

I brought you all my troubles and laid them at your feet. You said "It's good to see you, have some coffee and something sweet".

We would talk away the hours, you rarely would complain. While I knew your medical history, I did not know the depth of your pain.

When you went into the hospital, your troubles became more clear. Then came hospice where your pain would soon disappear.

You have always been a beauty, so loving and so kind. But as the pain receded your soul began to shine.

Your face became angelic so youthful and so bright. The tension was removed and all could see your light.

The nurses, they adored you; they called you their "queen bee". They even shed tears when nearing the time that you would leave.

Now that you have left us I am feeling rather lost. However, I do understand, staying came with too high a cost.

I know you are at peace with those who've gone before. Give dad a little kiss for me as you dance together once more.
