Welcome to the memorial page for

David R. Behunin

February 1, 2013

Webster – David R. Behunin, age 64, died Friday, February 1, 2013, at home.

He leaves his wife of 36 years, Linda T. (Rhodes) Behunin of Webster; two sons, Kent Behunin and Jason Behunin, both of Oregon; a brother, Michael Darrigan of Washington; a sister, Sharie Beale and her husband David Beale of Medford, OR; six grandchildren.  He was predeceased by two brothers, Lyn and Kit Behunin.

David was born in Salt Lake City, UT, son of the late Sheldon S. Behunin and Joy LaRay (Pierce) Wilkinson, and lived in Holden before moving to Webster 30 years ago.  He was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints (Mormon) as were his parents.  He was distantly related to Joseph Smith and 46 of the original pioneers that first came to Salt Lake City.  David always had the pioneering "can-do" spirit that was a hallmark of his ancestors.

By trade, David was a building contractor.  He was a United States Navy veteran, serving four tours in Vietnam.  He was an avid fisherman and motorcycle rider.  David is remembered for his wit, his intellect and his artistic ability, but most of all his big heart and his willingness to always help his friends and those less fortunate than himself and his love and devotion to his wife.
