Julia Spitz Obituary

Julia Spitz, 98
Dudley
Julia (Bielik) Spitz passed peacefully to heaven on May 1 surrounded by the loving good-byes of her family. Julia lived all ninety-eight years of her life to the fullest. She grew up in a family of thirteen children and remained close to her siblings her whole life. She carried on her family spirit and raised three children of her own. She loved to play cards, especially with her grandchildren. Bingo was one of her passions, she always liked to celebrate winning, but in the end would distribute the prizes to everyone around her.  She enjoyed a deep faith in God and never missed a Mass. She was a long-time employee at Bates Shoe Company where she had many lifetime friendships. In retirement she spent a lot of her time at The Dudley Senior Center where she enjoyed every activity and could be depended on to make morning coffee for everyone. Saturday mornings were spent on her porch with her two daughters and her granddaughter where she enjoyed passing her secrets for cooking Slovak food and sharing her wisdom of many years. Julia was a very strong-minded woman who lost her husband forty-two years ago, but lived as an active, independent woman well into her nineties. In her later years, she still maintained an engaging and feisty personality that was enjoyed and admired by everyone that she came in contact with.
She is predeceased by her husband George Spitz, her son Elias Spitz, and her grandson Kyle Hunter. She leaves two daughters, Katherine Cregg and Julianne Hunter. She leaves her daughter-in-law Carol Spitz and two sons-in-law, Dennis Cregg and Todd Hunter. She also leaves five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
