Webster - Shirley Ratcliffe, age 82, passed away peacefully in her sleep, October 26, 2016.

She leaves behind a companion of over 50 years, Francis Melzer; a daughter, Arline Gendreau;  two grand kids, Dan and Eric Gendreau, Dan's wife Tacy Gendreau, four great grand kids Morgan Gendreau, Tyler Rousseau, & her "twin boys" Sammy and Aidan Gendreau.

Shirley Ratciffe, known by most as "Meme" worked at many of the local restaurants and clubs. With a larger than life personality and flashy way of dressing, Shirley was unforgettable. Her longtime companion of over 50 years "Francis Melzer" cared for her night and day until the day she passed. To quote one of the nurses that took care of Shirley "Everyone should have a Franny". There love should be a lesson for anyone in this world trying to make it as a couple. Always together, they would be the first ones to compliment you. They made you feel welcome in any conversation. Whether it was making you laugh, or getting a joke 30 minutes after you told it…. Shirley was "one of a kind". A definite people person, Shirley loved going out. Her beautiful smile could attract and be noticed by everyone. The only thing bigger than her beautiful smile was the love she had for her family & friends. Whether it was a card or present on the holidays or your birthday, Shirley never forgot you. She was so proud being a great grandmother. Everywhere she stayed she had out the pictures of her great grand kids. They could never leave seeing her without a giant hug and kiss and a few extra dollars in their pockets. Shirley will be missed by so many, but never forgotten…. she made sure of that.
There are no calling hours. Mass will be held for Shirley Thursday, March 16, 2017 at 10 AM in St. Louis Church, Lake St., Webster, MA, burial will be private.
