William F. Armstrong, age 88, of Dudley, died Friday, December 23, 2016, at Saint Vincent Hospital, Worcester.  

He leaves his wife of 61 years, Ann L. (Wardwell) Armstrong of Dudley; three sons, William Armstrong II of Worcester, Barry Armstrong of Dudley and Robert Armstrong of Webster; a brother, Wayne Armstrong of Worcester; two sisters, Carol Gilroy of Rutland and Beverly Erickson of Oxford; three grandchildren, Ryan, Brandon and Kelsey.  He was predeceased by four brothers, John Armstrong, Walter Armstrong, Kenneth Armstrong and Donald Armstrong,  and by a sister, Vivian.

He was born in Worcester, son of the late John and Eva (Bloom) Armstrong and lived in Dudley for the past 51 years.  He was a United States Army veteran, having served in Korea.  He enjoyed sports, the Boston Red Sox, the New England Patriots and loved going to Maine.

There are no calling hours.  All services are private.  Burial will be in North Brooklin, Maine.  Donations may be made in his memory to the Webster-Dudley Council, Webster, MA.  Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, 48 School Street, Webster, MA has been entrusted with his arrangements.  A guest book is available at www.shaw-majercik.com where you may lite a candle or post a condolence.
