I just happened upon this obituary while searching for something online. My heart stopped. I had not talked to him (I knew him as William—I see others refer to him as Spike) in a very, very long time, but I received my very first kiss from him a long time ago, sitting on a wall on a cold winter’s night in Woon, RI. Indeed—-the gentlest of souls. How unbelievably sad.

Sorry to read of the passing of Spike. He was devoted to his daughter Autumn when I met him. His world revolved around doing what was in the best interest of his daughter. He was an awesome single dad and He educated me on many things while I helped him with child development. Deepest sympathies to Spike's family and friends. We are all a better person because we knew him. Godspeed RIP

Bill was always a kind and soft spoken person. I never heard him say a bad word about anyone. He took great pride in caring for the children he carried on his daily routes. His love of family always touched my heart. An old soul now gets his wings.

Spike, you are forever a hero to your children, family, friends and the world.
You were not afraid to stand-up for what you believed in and gave so much, to help other's poverty.
You are gone, now; but you will never be forgotten.
Eternally,
Your friend (and "Royal Pain in the butt"),
Mätthew Griffin
