James F. Greenwood

Webster- James F. Greenwood age 83 passed away Monday, March 18, 2024, at home with his loving family at his side.

He was the husband of the late Irene Greenwood who passed away in 2022.  He leaves his son John F. Greenwood and his wife Karen and with which he made his home, grandchildren, Jonathan, Jacob and Dylan Greenwood, Jeffrey, Mckaelynn Souza and his sister Sherri Wyllie.

He was born in Bridgeport, CT, the son of the late John A. Greenwood and Eleanor (Carpenter) Greenwood and lived in the Webster area for many years.  He was a Vietnam Army Veteran.  Jim was a history teacher for the Dudley School System and taught Shepard Hill in Dudley.  He was the student council advisor for all grades at Shepard Hill and was involved in many fund-raising activities for the system. When James lived in the Somers area he opened a teen center.  His interaction with the Jewish Community Center in Bridgeport, CT was instrumental in making the educator and the caring person he was.  He was very dedicated to his students and his school. Jim was a car enthusiast and was most fond of Corvettes and Camaros, he was a fan of the Red Sox and the New England Patriots.

All services for James will be private with burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery, with military honors., Webster  The Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, 48 School St., Webster, MA has been entrusted with his arrangements.   A guest book is available at www.shaw-majercik.com where you may post a condolence.
