Richard H. Surprenanant

North Grosvenordale, CT.- Richard H. Surprenant age 61 passed away Saturday, March 16, 2024, at the Hartford Hospital, Hartford, CT.

He leaves his companion and partner in life, Cynthia A. Gatineau of North Grosvenordale and with which he made his home.  A brother Dennis Surprenant and his wife Jeannette of Norton, MA, a brother-law William Verheggen of Bradenton, Florida and niece Heather and nephew Kevin.  He had a sister Pamela Verheggen that predeceased him.

He was born in Putnam, CT, the son of the late Henry E. Surprenant and Alice Aucoin and lived in the area most of his life.  He was retired from Conntrol Corp where he built foot switches.

Richard enjoyed antiquing, especially collecting old milk bottles, the history of the area as well as family history and chevy cars.

There are no calling hours, a celebration of life will be announced at a later date.  The Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, 48 School St., Webster, MA has been entrusted with his arrangements.  Donations in his memory may be made to charity of donor’s choice.  A guest book is available at www.shaw-majercik.com where you may post a condolence or light a candle.
