Bruce A. Brooker

DANIELSON, CT -Bruce A. Brooker, 50, died April 14, 2017, at his home surrounded by family and friends, having lost his battle with cancer.

Bruce was born in Putnam, CT, and lived most of his life in the town of Killingly, having attended  Killingly public schools.  He is survived by his fiancé, Lydia King Lagerberg of Danielson; his mother Genevieve (Alexander) Brooker of Danielson; his brothers, Bill Brooker of Danielson and Brian Brooker of Vermont; his sons, Jeremy and Seth Brooker of Danielson; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.  Bruce is predeceased by his father Norbert Brooker, his brother Craig Brooker and several aunts and an uncle.

Bruce's passions included photography, hiking and music-most especially music of the band Grateful Dead.  A self proclaimed "Dead Head" and "hippie" he practiced love and kindness and that is what he wished for everyone. Bruce was a beacon of light wherever he went. He didn't give up on friends and family and helped many a friend through tough times. His consideration and respect of others along with his underlying love of his family and friends was second to none. It goes without saying he will be missed by many.
Bruce fought a long and hard battle against Metastatic Melanoma and now without pain will be angel looking down to guide us. 

His family would like to thank Dr. Dennis E. Slater and his team at Eastern Connecticut Hematology and Oncology as well as the Day Kimball Palliative/Hospice program for their exceptional care and compassion  during Bruce's fight with cancer.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday May 7, 2017 from 2-6 pm at Hurricane Farm 65 Kasacek Road, Scotland, CT  Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, 48 School Street, Webster, MA was entrusted with his arrangements.  A guest book is available at www.shaw-majercik.com where you may post a condlence or light a candle.
