Danielson, CT - Douglas Collins, 74, passed away at home on Tuesday December 31, 2019 with his loving family by his side;
He is survived by his wife of eighteen years Glenda (Stamos) Collins; his son Christopher Plante and his spouse Keith of Griswold, CT; four daughters: Karen Rhodes and her spouse Michael of Parish, FL, Kelly Morris of Jewett City, Susan Tarbox of Griswold, CT, Brianna Collins and her companion Joshua Howlett of Bethesda, MD; two brothers: Thomas Collins of Moosup and Arthur Collins and his spouse Irene of Florida; two sisters: Betty Nadeau and her husband Robert of Rhode Island, and Ida Durning of Rhode Island; fifteen grandchildren: Ray and his spouse Amy , Brian, Darren, Brendyn, and Taylor and spouse Mason Moriarty, Analia Musitano , Alfred Musitano, Nathaniel Musitano, Michael Musitano , Luciano Musitano, Angelo Musitano, Benjamin Rivera, Leah Carmela, and Kaylee Hill; his great-grandchildren Kylie, Caidance, and Aubree Musitano and one great-grandchild on the way; his two special nephews: George and Thomas Butts; he also leaves, many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Douglas was born in West Warwick, RI on August 16, 1945, son of the late Thomas and Myrtle (Tourtellotte) Collins; he enjoyed going hunting and fishing and was a fan of old western films. Douglas thoroughly enjoyed taking the family on trips to Jamestown Beach and spending as much time as possible with those he loved.
All are invited to attend a celebration of Douglas' life on Friday January 3, 2020 at 12:00 noon at the Sterling Fire House, 225 Main Street Sterling, CT. Private committal services will be held at a later date at the Riverside Cemetery in Sterling.
