Irene Kennan Obituary

Brookfield, MA- Irene C. (Portier) Kennan age 91 passed away at home, Thursday, January 3, 2019.  She was the wife of the late Harry L. Kennan who died in 1997.  She leaves a son Dana Keenan of Warren she had two sons that predeceased her, Gary Kennan of Charlton,  and Karl Kennan of Warren, several grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She also predeeased by two brothers, Warren Portier of Ware and Ralph Portier of Brimfield, three sisters Rhea Lathe of Wilbraham, Pearl Tuttle of W. Brookfield and Jacqueline Gorman of Colorado Springs, Colorado.  She was born in West Warren daughter of the late Wilfred A. Portier and Rhea B. (Benoit) Portier, living in Brookfield since 1998 prior to that living in Lady Lake, Florida.  She was a graduate of Warren High School class of 1944.  Irene was a floral designer and worked for the Salem Smith greenhouse in W. Brookfield.  She enjoyed bowling and playing cards. There are no calling hours, services are private.  Please omit flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Brookfield Rescue Squad, Central St., Brookfield MA 01506.  The Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, 48 School St., Webster, MA has been entrusted with her arrangements.  A guest book is a available at www.shaw-majercik.com where may post a condolence or light a candle.
