New Braintree - Alexander D. Murphy, age 89, of North Brookfield Road, died Friday, August 17, 2012, at UMASS Memorial Health Care - University Campus, Worcester.

Alexander was born in Brooklyn, New York, son of the late DeWitt and Bertha M. Murphy.  He is the last of his immediate family, survived by a nephew.

He was a hydraulics mechanic at Grumman Aircraft for many years.

There are no calling hours.  Services and burial will at a later date.  Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, 48 School Street, Webster is directing arrangements.
