He leaves his four daughters, Nancy Beauchamp and her husband Tom Beauchamp of Thompson, Heather LaPlante and her husband Dennis LaPlante of Mendon, MA, Carol Habercoss and her partner Jim Kelley of San Leandro, CA, Kristin Sevigny and her husband Will Sevigny of Thompson; five grandchildren, David Ware of Thompson, Avery, Hannah and Gregg LaPlante of Mendon, Cortney Sevigny of Thompson; three great-grandchildren, Tyler Briere of Auburn, MA, Molly and Zachary Ware of Thompson; several nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, children of William and Doris Habercoss of Moosup, Carl and Barbara Habercoss of the Chicago area; cousins and second cousins from the Koebke and Schoenfildt families.

Attending Thompson schools, in his early 20's he was an accomplished accordian player and was a member of a trio called the "Serenaders", playing localling in Webster and Putnam, CT areas in the late 30's-early 40's.  Alfred was a World War II veteran, serving from 1942-1945 with the 749th AAA Gun Battalion with tours in Iceland, France, Belgium, and Germany.  After the war, he worked in the American Optical in Southbridge, MA where he met his wife Natalie.  They married in 1947, and settled in Wilsonville, where Alfred built their first home on Wagher Road and started their family.

He was a member of the Thompson Congregational Church, previous to that, a life long deacon at the First Baptist Church in Webster, MA.

Always a talented craftsman, in 1956, along with his father-in-law, Ewart Tonner, they designed a line of colonial antique reproduction miniature furniture, which Alfred and his wife Natalie made in their home workshop.  Branded TONCOSS, the furniture was sold to gift shops and collectors throughout this country and abroad, and still is collected today.

Alfred retired from this business in the 80's and began his second venture, collecting and selling antiques in their home shop, and Brimfield antique flea markets.  He loved yard sales and flea markets, enjoyed the hunt and the find, could always repair/fix anything.  Always an avid gardener, he loved the outdoors, his animals, his daughter Kristin's horses, being with family, and good food.  Well into his late 80's he was very busy, active, always ready for an adventure.
