Woodstock, CT – Alice J. (Vinal) Congdon passed away peacefully in her sleep late Saturday afternoon on February 26, 2022 at the age of 81.
She was born in Bangor, Maine on July 24, 1940. As a young girl, Alice moved to the Eastford, CT area and attended Woodstock, CT schools.
She leaves behind seven children: David Freeman and his wife Judy, Daniel Freeman and his wife Jennifer, Laurie Freeman-Hnath and her husband Michael, Leslie Freeman-Osborne and her husband Philip, Guy Freeman and his wife Lynn, Bertha "Bea" Couchman, Dorothy Gonyer and her husband Johnathan; also her younger sister Faye Rogers of Chula Vista, CA; thirteen grandchildren: Eric, Jessica, Kayleigh, Samuel, Anthony, Michael, Alisha, Brandie, Ronnie, Kyle, Heather, Johnathan "JJ", and Kylie; eleven great-grandchildren: Eliza, Emma B., Haley, Rylee, and Ayla Freeman, Liam and Emma Hnath, Nyah, and Layla Saunders, Jackson and Adalyn Freeman, and many nieces and nephews; she was predeceased by her parents Dorothy and Guy Vinal and six siblings: Sonny, Buster, Barbara, Paul, John, and Wayne Vinal.
Alice enjoyed the simple life and spending time with her children. She loved to play cards especially solitaire, word search, crossword puzzles, and visiting her friends for a cup of tea. She will be dearly missed by her children, her sister, and all who knew her and her calm personality.
Alice attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness and had the hope of the resurrection on a paradise earth.
A private memorial service will be held at the family's convenience.
