Southbridge- Arthur J. Arpin, age 73 of 20 Lyon Street, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 4, 2012, at Harrington Hospital, Southbridge.
He was born in Webster, son of the late Armand and Stella (Sniadach) Arpin. He was a graduate of Bartlett High School, Class of 1955. He lived Webster, Woodstock, CT and Southbridge over the years.
He leaves a sister, Arline Langlois of Putnam, CT; two brothers, Armand Arpin of Worcester and Ronald Arpin of Brooklyn, CT; several nieces and nephews.
He was employed as a laborer in various factories in the area early in life until a industrial accident left him disabled and unable to work. He was a man of many talents and so filled his life with planting beautiful flowers, baking pastries for his family, painting landscapes and caring for his pet Sun Conure, Zack.
Art loved playing mini golf and going to out for Fish & Chips at Ronnie's or Chinese food with his niece, Chris. He was a fan of the Cleveland Indians, Baltimore Ravens and the UConn Woma's basketball teams. Art enjoyed playing cribbage with his brother, Ron.
Per his wishes there are no calling hours. Burial and services are private in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace Cemetery in Webster. Donations may be made to the MA Audubon Society, 208 South Great Road, Lincoln, MA 01773. The Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, 48 School Street, Webster is directing arrangements.
