Barbara A. (Stelmach) Peters, 79, of Thompson, formerly of Webster, died Thursday, September 5, 2019 at home after an illness.

She leaves her husband of  60 years. Lawrence W. Peters; a daughter, Leslie A. Kwasniewski and her husband, Dean of Thompson; a son, Brian Peters and his wife, Lisa of Webster; three grandchildren, Cody, Katey and Ashlin. She was predeceased by her brother Michael Stelmach.

Barbara was born in Manhattan, New York, daughter of Michael and Stasia (Surozenski) Stelmach and lived in Webster most of her life before moving to Thompson five years ago.

She was a secretary at Park Ave Elementary School for many years before retiring.

She was an avid Polka dancer who also enjoyed going to the casino.

Barbara's graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 14 at 10:30 AM at Mount Zion Cemetery, Webster.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: St Jude's Children's Fund, 501 St. Jude's Place, Memphis, TN 38105.   The Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, 48 School Street, Webster.  A guest book is available at www.shaw-majercik.com where you may post a condolence or light a candle.``
