Dudley – Carrie "Marie" (Wheeler) Richer, age 81, a resident of Webster Manor, formerly of Dudley, died Tuesday, January 01, 2013, at Harrington Memorial Hospital, Southbridge.

Her husband, of 46 years, Richard X. Richer, passed away June 3, 2002.  She leaves her three children, Tina, Brian and Todd Richer; a granddaughter, Amber; five brothers, Richard, David, Robert, James and George Wheeler; three sisters, Edith Green, Anabelle Tubbs and Judith Wheeler; many nieces and nephews.  A brother, Thomas Wheeler and a nephew, David Wheeler Jr. predeceased her.

Carrie was born in Webster, daughter of the late Richard and Doris (Matheson) Wheeler.  She was raised in Connecticut and attended Tourtellotte Memorial High School in Thompson.  She worked at the American Optical in Southbridge, then spent many years as a homemaker raising her children.  She later worked outside the home until her retirement.

Carrie was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan.  She enjoyed crafting and oil painting.
