He leaves his wife, Carolyn T. (Langlois) Smith of Oakham; one son, Timothy J. Smith of Jamaica Plain; one daughter, Robin L. Kirkorian of Oakham; two brothers, William Smith of Oklahoma and John Smith of Rutland; two grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Angela Smith of Rhode Island.

Dale was born in Riverdale, Maryland, son of the late Parker W. and Angela (Soares) Smith and lived in Bristol, Rhode Island before moving to Oakham in 1977. He was a sales manager, having worked many years in the plastic industry. He was U.S. Air Force Veteran, having served in Vietnam. He was a member of the Barre Sportsman Club.
