Webster - David A. "Chippy" Collette Sr., age 68, of 11 Overlook Avenue, died Wednesday, January 2, 2008, at UMASS Memorial Health Care - University Campus, Worcester.

His wife, Rachel L. (Lavallee) Collette died July 28, 2002. He leaves a son, Jody M. Collette of Putnam; two daughters, Joanne Morin of Thompson and Karen Collette of Monroeton, PA; three brothers, Ernie Collette of South Carolina, Dennis Collette and Jerry Collette, both of Dudley; 8 grandchildren and one great-grandson; and his longtime loving companion, June Ahearn of Barre.

He was born in Putnam, son of the late Ernest O. and Mary F. (Stochaj) Collette and lived in Webster most of his life. He was a general contractor. Chippy was a member of the Auburn Elks, American Legion. He was an avid sportsman and a member of the Webster Lake Anglers.

Calling hours at the Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, 48 School Street, Webster are Friday, January 4, 2008, from 4:00-7:00 pm. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery at the convenience of the family. The family requests that flowers be omitted and that donations be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
