Obituary

Webster-David J. Pepka, of Webster MA, joined his father, John, on October 17, 2015, and entered his eternal resting place surrounded by his devoted friends and family, after a 3 year battle with brain cancer in the comfort of his home. Anyone lucky enough to know David could attest to what a remarkable husband, father, son and friend he was. Dave will be remembered very lovingly by his wife, Buffie, of 22 years, and his children, Justin and Julia. It was the love for his family and friends, that gave him the strength to fight for every minute he shared with them since his diagnosis. His mother, Carol Pepka, his sister Lori Pepka and his mother in-law and father in-law Ronald and Linda Latour will also keep his memory alive and remember him. His father, John Pepka, predeceased David in 1993. David was a 1987 graduate of Bartlett High School. He furthered his education at the University of Hartford and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute where he earned his Bachelors of Computer Science in 1991 and his Master's degree in 1996, respectively. Dave dedicated his entire career to Travelers Insurance Company.  In those 20-plus years, David built many life long friendships. Aside from the love and devotion he had for his family, David had a passion for playing the drums and for traveling with his family and friends.  The Pepka's were fortunate to have many adventures to Disney, South Carolina and the Caribbean and made so many life-long memories. Dave was an avid drummer and was a member of the People of Goodwill Band. David will be sorely missed but his "drum beat" will forever carry on in our hearts. "Team Beat" will never be forgotten as one of the greatest days that our family and friends rallied together in his support. A memorial service will be held at St Louis Church, 15 Lake St., Webster MA, on Saturday October 24, 2015,  at 10:00 am followed by a celebration of life at Point Breeze in Webster, MA. Please, come and share your wonderful memories of Dave with his family.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute. The Shaw-Majerik Funeral Home, 48 School St., Webster, MA has been entrusted with the arrangements.  A guest book is available at www.shaw-majercik.com where you may post a condolence or a memory.
