Obituary

Worcester - Dayna Tumer, 72, passed away at the UMass Memorial Medical Center on Friday October 4, 2019;

She is survived by her mother: Betty Jean Lewis of Port Charlotte, FL; her son: Barry O. Tumer of NY; her daughter: Rebecca L. Tumer of Worcester; her brother James Lewis of Port Charlotte, FL; two sisters: Suzanne Jackson-Smith of Port Charlotte, FL and Patty Strickland of AR; four grandchildren: Marc, Carlos, Jasmine, and Owen; five great-grandchildren: Nyeema, Carlos Jr., Caleb, Ghalia, and Amelia; she was predeceased by her father Edwin J. Lewis.

Dayna was born in Casper, Wyoming on November 2, 1946; prior to moving to Worcester, Dayna lived in Istanbul, Turkey.  Dayna was an English Teacher for many years, she will be deeply missed by her family, her friends, and by all of the students whose lives she touched.

Private funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, 48 School Street Webster, MA.

Dayna's family kindly requests that memorial contributions be sent to the American Cancer Society.
