Dudley / Charlton – Donaldine "Toots" P. (Roos) Hamill age 81 died Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at UMassMemorial Medical Center, Worcester, MA.  She leaves her husband of 57years, Irvin A. Hamill Jr.,  a daughter Kelly J. Rutkowski of Palmer, MA,  a son Peter G. Hamill and his wife Kelly Meagher Hamill and two grandchildren Maggie and Jack Hamill.   She also leaves a sister, Babe J. Bortels and her husband Dr. Bill Bortels  of Venice, Florida.

She was born in Springfield, MA daughter of the late George and Evelyn (LaFleche) Roos and resided in Dudley, MA most of her life.  Donna and her husband also wintered in Venice, Florida.   Donna was a graduate of Boston University and a 29 year English Teacher at Pinkerton Academy and Bartlett High School retiring in 1997.  She was very active with the students at the High School and within the communities of Webster and Dudley.  Especially cherished, was the St. Anthony's Kids Folk Mass and the High School Travel Club where she developed and lead programs that enabled kids to experience the values of music and the cultures of the world.

There are no calling hours.  A Mass will be held at 10:00 on Monday September 25 @ St. Louis Church, Lake Street, Webster, MA with burial in Waldron, Cemetery, Dudley.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the "Donna & Irv Hamill Scholarship Fund" affording less fortunate kids the opportunity to realize their passion for continued learning.  Please mail donations to Irv Hamill, 88 Masonic Home Rd (R407), Charlton MA, 01507.  The Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, 48 School St., Webster, MA has been entrusted with her arrangements.  A guest book is available at www.shaw-majercik.com where you may post a condolence or light a candle.
