Obituary

Doris Mae Mackie 1940 – 2026

With profound sadness, the family of Doris Mae (Rondeau) Mackie, announce her peaceful passing on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Backus Hospital in Norwich, Connecticut, after a long illness.

Born in Putnam, Connecticut, Doris Mae was the daughter of the late Lionel and Margaret (Leonard) Rondeau.  She lived in Dayville at the time of her passing.

Doris Mae worked for several years at Foxwood's Casino as a Slot Attendant.  She enjoyed playing bingo, which she played almost daily and enjoyed playing pitch, especially winning pitch tournaments at the Putnam Elks.  She enjoyed going out to eat with family and friends, especially dining at Wright's Chicken Farm, she also enjoyed going to amusement parks with her children and grandchildren.  Her favorite being the former Riverside Park in Agawam, Massachusetts.  She and her children and grandchildren also attended many of the local fairs.

Doris Mae is survived by her longtime best friend, Daniel Seals of Dayville, CT; her son, Myles Racine and his companion, Eileen Barrette of Brooklyn, CT; her daughter and son-in-law, Dori-Anne Racine Moon and her husband Michael and their son Jacoby Matthias Moon of Groton, CT; granddaughter, Maegan Lee Cyrus and her children, Rhylee Mae, Grant Joseph, Aunnahlee Love, Kaisyn Aero and Gaberial Joshua; granddaughter, Courtney White and her husband Kevin, along with their children, Victoria Serenity, Kohlsyn Levi and Vayleigh Grace; granddaughter, Kaitlyn Melody Moon.

Middle names were important to Doris Mae and she was involved in the naming of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Doris Mae was predeceased by a son, Ronald Briere; a sister, Gertrude Curio and a brother, Lionel Rondeau.

At her request, there are no calling hours or funeral services planned.  The family wishes for everyone to remember that Doris Mae lived a long and happy life and that she was loved and loved so many.  She is now at peace.  May she Rest in Peace.
