Tad was born and raised in the Tatnuck section of Worcester, son of the late Edward Cournoyer and his wife Patricia. He attended Worcester public schools and graduated from Doherty High School, where he excelled at Track and Field, in 1978. Tad attended Bentley University in Waltham, MA and graduated with degrees in Finance and Management in 1982. As a child, Tad spent his summers in Sandwich, MA at the familys summer home. He spent many years working as a farm hand at Crow Farm, picking peas and beans as a young boy, then driving tractors and working with equipment as a teenager. As an adult, Tad often spoke of his fond childhood memories spending summers in the small seaside town of Sandwich.
After graduating from Bentley University, Tad settled in Somerville, MA and began working in the Finance department of the Bioran Medical Laboratory. While at Bioran, Tad met and soon married his wife Madeliene Del Toro. Tad and Madeliene were married in San Juan, Puerto Rico and their marriage in 1988 was truly a highpoint in Tads life. When Tad and Madeline made the decision to start a family, they chose to relocate back to Tads home neighborhood in the Tatnuck section of Worcester. Here in Worcester, Tad was known as a dedicated husband and father who was always ready to lend a hand to a neighbor in need. Over his career, Tad held several Finance and Management positions in the New England area and served as General Manager of the Huhtala Oil Company in East Templeton where he was widely respected as a gentle and caring leader.
Tad had many passions and hobbies throughout his life. As a teenager and into early adulthood, Tad was a gifted Rock and Roll drummer. He idolized Keith Moon of The Who and enjoyed performing with his Rock and Roll band. Tads father Edward was an avid skier and a professional photographer for the Worcester Telegram and Gazette. Tad shared his fathers love of skiing and photography and was very skilled at both pursuits. Tad also had an interest in vintage motorcycles and cars and spent his leisure time restoring and driving them.
A private memorial will be held to remember Tad.
