Edward Bibek Sr., age 91, of North Grosvenordale, died Friday, June 13, 2014 at Regency Heights of Danielson.

He leaves his wife of 65 years, Mary (Pershula) Bibek; a son, Edward Bibek Jr. and his companion, Joan Macdonald of Putnam; a daughter, Nancy Mason and her husband William of Putnam; a grandson, Alex Macdonald of Easton, MA.  He was predeceased by his brothers, Stanley Bibek, John Bibek, Stephen Bibek, William Bibek, and by a sister, Susan Priessler.

Edward was born in North Grosvenordale, son of the late Julian and Mary (Kulisa) Bibek and lived in North Grosvenordale his entire life.  He was a self-employed electrician for many years and also had worked as a meat cutter.  He was a World War II, United States Navy veteran and served in Australia, Iran and Iraq.  He was involved in the invasion on Sicily with the British 8th Division in 1943 and the Phillipines in 1945.  He was a longtime member of the Community Fire Department, American Legion and VFW.
