Edwin J. Mackowiak 1939 – 2026

Edwin J. Mackowiak, age 86, of Webster, Massachusetts, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at his home.

Edwin was born on July 5, 1939, in Webster, Massachusetts, a son of the late John and Stasia (Kos) Mackowiak.

Edwin served in the U.S Army National Guard and later worked as an auto mechanic.  He later worked at Pratt and Whitney as a Jet Engine mechanic and later at Gould and Eberhardt as a machinist until his retirement.

Edwin was a great husband and father. He enjoyed being surrounded by his children and grandchildren.  He mostly enjoyed taking trips on his bicycle all over surrounding towns.  He once rode over 60 miles in a single trip.  He also enjoyed building things in his basement workshop and doing hobbies.  He enjoyed playing music, mostly on the piano and he dabbled with the guitar, violin, and harmonica.

Edwin is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Erlene M. (Young) Mackowiak; and six children, Edwin Mackowiak Jr. of Virginia Beach, VA, Stephen Mackowiak of Abbeville, LA, Lisa (Mackowiak) Jezierski of Thompson, CT,  Derek Mackowiak of Webster, Lauren Mackowiak of Webster, MA (pre-deceased), Kristen Frederick of Webster, MA; 9 grandchildren, Abra, Taylor, Meagan, Jesse, Rodney, Adrianna, Savanah, Summer and Cash; 7 great-grandchildren, Lucas, Dustin, Sophia, Jack, Connor, Aaliyah and Amari.
