Obituary

Emanuel J. "Manny" Leo, age 86, of Webster, died Saturday, April 6, 2013, at Saint Vincent Hospital, Worcester.

He leaves his wife of 25 years, Linda (Clough) Leo of Webster; two sons, Kenneth Leo of Florida and Raymond Leo of Auburn; six daughters, Annette Broberg of Worcester, Laurie Leo of Worcester, Cathy Partridge of Charlton, Jennifer Leo-Bubar of Oakham, Karen Rogers of Dudley, Betsy Donnelly of Oxford; a brother, Amideo Leo of West Boylston; eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  He was predeceased by two sisters, Antoinette Pavone and Cosima Franchi, both of Worcester.

Manny was born in Worcester, son of the late Cosimo and Catherina (Pesaro) Leo.  He served in the United States Army, during World War II as a Military Policeman. He served a term as the President of the Worcester Lions Club, of which he was a long time member and attended All Saint's Church of Worcester.  Manny, as he was called, was highly respected in the business community having been successful in several businesses, E.J. Leo Interior Decorating and Painting, Leo Realty, Manny's and The Whistle Stop in Oxford, until his retirement in the mid 90's. He enjoyed playing cards.  Manny will be sorely missed by his loving family and his many friends.

Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone, prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone, silence the pianos and with muffled drum bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.

Let the aeroplanes circle moaning overhead scribbling on the sky the message He is Dead. Put crepe bows round the white necks of public doves, let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.

He was my North, my South, My East, and West, my working week and my Sunday rest, my noon, my midnight, my talk, my song; I thought that love would last forever: I was wrong.

The stars are not wanted now; put our every one, pack up the moon and dismantle the sun, pour away the ocean and sweep up the woods; for nothing now can ever come to good.
