Ernest H. Hiitt, age 88 of Worcester, died Saturday, June 21, 2014 at home surrounded by his loving family.

His wife, Mary (Doherty) Hiitt died in September 2010.  He leaves three sons, Robert Hiitt of Worcester, Ronald Hiitt of Worcester and David Hiitt of Wellesley; 9 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.  He was predeceased by a daughter, Sharon Marcotte of Worcester; by a brother, Arthur Hiitt of Stoneham and by a sister, Alice Castell of Worcester.

Ernest was born in Portland, Maine, son of the late Ernest H Hiitt Sr. and Mary (Doherty) Hiitt and lived in Worcester most of his life.  He was a Union Electrician for 67 years.  He served his country in the U.S. Navy, World War II.  Additionally, he was a member of the IBEW #96.
