Danielson, CT. – Gaetane "Gitty" M. (Daigneault) Bedard, age 68, died Thursday, June 21, 2012, at home, surrounded by her loving family.

She leaves her husband of 49 years, Bernard G. Bedard Sr. of Danielson; two daughters, Brigitte Cassell and her husband Herb of Southbridge, MA. and Barbara Labbe-MacKay and her husband Timothy of Danielson, CT.; one son, Bernard G. Bedard Jr. and his fiancé Ashley Quagliano of Putnam; one brother, Pierre "Pete" Daigneault and his wife Carol of Sturbridge, MA.; three sisters, Helen Hinkle and her husband Chet of Planstville, CT., Midge Daigneault of Southbridge, MA. and Nicky Daigneault of Southbridge, MA.; six grandchildren, Christina Beelsey and her husband Chris, Nicole Cassell, Christopher Cassell, Jonathan Bedard, Bernard Bedard III and Olivia Bedard; one great-granddaughter, Jordan Bedard; many nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by a sister, Susie Coffey and by a brother, Gaston Daigneault.

She was born in East Hereford, Quebec, Canada, daughter of the late Uldee and Ida (Pariseau) Daigneault and lived in Charlton, Massachusetts before moving to Danielson in 1993.

She was a retired factory worker, having worked at American Optical, Sealy Mattress, and retiring from C & M in Wauregan, CT.  She enjoyed going to Foxwoods, bingo and yard sale-ing.  She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, June 28, 2012, at 10:00 am in Saint James Church, Franklin Street, Danielson, CT.  There are no calling hours.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Saint James Church.  Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, 48 School Street, Webster is directing arrangements.

The family requests that everyone attending Gitty's Celebration of Life service to please wear colorful clothing to the service.
