Gary "Turtle" Mongeon, age 56 of Webster, died Sunday, May 4, 2014 at UMASS Memorial Medical Center, Worcester.

He leaves two sons, Christopher Bellen of North Conway, NH and Gary Mongeon of Webster; a daughter, Sonya Mongeon of North Adams; his father, Lawrence Mongeon Sr. of Fitchburg; his mother, Jeanne (McMaster) Mongeon of Spencer; a brother, Lawrence Mongeon Jr. of Brimfield; two sisters, Debra Mongeon of Webster and Mary Ann Stanhope of Southbridge; three grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Gary was born in Southbridge and lived in Webster most of his life.  He was a graduate of Shepherd Hill High School.  Gary was a self-employed painter and had previously worked at United Lens.  He enjoyed ice fishing and the outdoors.  He was affiliated with several motorcycle clubs.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 9, 2014 at 10:45 am in North Cemetery, Oxford.  Calling hours at the Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, 48 School Street, Webster are Friday, May 9th from 8:30 am to 10:30 am.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.  A guest book is available at www.shaw-majercik.com .
