Obituary

Geoffrey S. Coderre, age 49, of North Grosvenordale, died Tuesday, May 23, 2017 at UMASS Memorial Health Care, Worcester.

He leaves his father, Richard A. Coderre of Jacksonville, FL; his mother, Judith D. Rhynehart of East Putnam and her companion, Fred McCoy of Baltic; one brother, John A. Coderre and his companion Suzanne Hart of Central Village; four sisters, Deborah Yakis of Woodstock and her companion, Mike Picard, Monique Sisson and her husband Randall of Pomfret, Roxanne DeOliveira and her husband Roberto of Woodstock, Nadine Gray and her husband Sean of Putnam; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews; also by his cat, Fluffy.

Geoffrey was born in Putnam and lived most of his life in East Putnam, moving to North Grosvenordale eight years ago.  He was a forklift operator for Rite Aid Distribution Center. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, hunting and being outdoors.  He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots and the Boston Celtics.

There are no calling hours.  Graveside services will be held on Friday, May 26, 2017, at 10:00 am in Saint Mary's Cemetery, Putnam, CT.  Following the services, all are invited to Valley Springs Sportsmans Club, 65 Valley Road, North Grosvenordale.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to PAWS-CT, P.O.Box 31, South Woodstock, CT 06267.  Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, 48 School Street, Webster has been entrusted with arrangements.  A guest book is available at www.shaw-majercik.com where you may light a candle or post a condolence message.
