Obituary

Webster – George B. McKay, age 79, loving husband of Jane F. (Richmond) McKay, died Saturday, August 17, 2024, at home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Dudley, son of the late William and Edna (Macker) McKay and lived in the Webster-Dudley area all his life.  He was a retired printer having worked many years and retiring from Stevens Linen in Dudley.  He had also been previously employed at Bentley Shoe in Dudley.

George enjoyed tinkering on cars and liked taking care of his yard.  He lived for his wife and their family, putting everyone else first.  He was a "go-to" guy.

In addition to his wife of 62 years, Jane F. (Richmond) McKay, George is survived by a son, George D. McKay of Dudley; two daughters, Carleen Lewis and her husband Charles Lewis of Thompson, CT., Paula McKay of Webster; five grandchildren, Nicole Saksa, Matthew McKay, Kailey Konkol, Mackenzie Lewis and Colby Lewis; three great-grandchildren, Korin, Madelyn and Ryder, and by one great-great-grandson, Hudsyn.  George was predeceased by a son, David McKay of Webster in August of 2023, and by his eleven siblings.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, beginning with visitation from 9:00 am to 10:30 am in the Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, 48 School Street, Webster, followed by a graveside service at 11:30 am in Saint Patrick Cemetery, 425 Main Street, Pascoag, RI.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in George's memory be made to the American Cancer Society, 3 Speen Street, Suite 250, Framingham, MA 01701.  A memorial guest book is available at www.shaw-majercik.com where you may post a message of condolence, share a memory and/or light a candle in George's memory.
