George “Rick” R. Chauvin Jr., age 72, of Dudley, beloved husband of Maryann E. (Sergel) Chauvin, died on Thursday, September 10, 2026 at Saint Vincent Hospital, Worcester.

Rick was born in Putnam, Connecticut, son of the late George R. Sr. and Irene (Lamiotte) Chauvin and lived in Webster-Dudley most of his life. He was a retired truck driver and had also previously worked at Bay Path Regional Technical High School in the maintenance department. While in California, he worked as a repo man, in automobile repossession.

Rick was a well-known, all-around great guy with many friends. He was a motorcycle and antique car enthusiast and loved time on his Harley Davidson. Known for his quick wit, he was also known to have a smart mouth and to pick on those he loved. He was a member of the evening coffee club at Dippin’ Donuts in Dudley, and frequented other donut shops, and McDonald’s. He enjoyed being with his family and friends.

In addition to his wife of 39 years, Maryann E. (Sergel) Chauvin of Dudley, Rick leaves three sons, Eric Chauvin of Webster, Jesse Sergel and his companion Dorene Smick of Dudley, and Jason Chauvin of Dudley; his daughter, Renee Andrews and her companion Marshall Sargeant of Webster; his brother, Kevin Chauvin of Worcester; three sisters, Elaine Chauvin of Webster, Cathy Roy of Dudley and Denise Begin of Webster; seven grandchildren, Scarlet, Mia, Jillian, Lily, Nick, Skye and Owen; one great-granddaughter, Niyella; several nieces and nephews, including his favorite “little brat” MaKayla; and many wonderful friends and acquaintances.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Rick on Friday, September 25, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, with a prayer service at 6:45 pm in the Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home & Cremation, 48 School Street, Webster. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rick’s memory can be made to the American Heart Association, 93 Worcester St, Wellesley, MA 02481.
