Whitinsville Glenadine (Glazier) Gilmore, 91, passed away peacefully, Tuesday September 22, 2015, at St. Camillus Heath Care, after suffering a stroke on Saturday. She lived a wonderful full life going to the Sutton Senior Center three times last week and celebrating her husband's 96 Birthday on September 16th. She did it all.
She leaves her husband, of 67 years, Ralph E, Gilmore with whom she lived. Also, survived by, two daughters, Sandra D'Amico and her husband, Joseph, Gail DiMarco, and her best friend, Nick DiMarco, two sons, Roy Gilmore and his fiancé, Kathy, Mark Gilmore and his wife Jane, her brother G. Donald Glazier and his wife Bonnie, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren , nieces and nephews, who were the center of her life. "Glen" was predeceased by two daughters, Susan Gilmore and Darlene LaBonne, and her sister Barbara (Glazier) Kroll.
Born in Medford MA., daughter of Rev. Glenn D. Glazier and Ella (Brower) Glazier, she moved to Whitinsville, in 1941 the night of her graduation from Saugus High School. Her Dad was the pastor of the Whitinsville United Methodist Church and this is where she met Ralph.
Those who knew her, knew a woman who was involved in everything. She was extremely active in her church, (choir, board of education, conference lay delegate, and Woman's Society), a Girl Scout Leader for many years, and the "Visiting Town Nurse" back in the days when the town had one, and a member of the "Sutton Seranaders" choir at the Sutton Senior Center, She devoted her life to her six children and her husband and extended family, she instilled in all of them that you can do anything, if you try. She will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Following cremation, a wake and funeral will be held, Sat.. Oct. 3, 2015, at the Blackstone Valley United Methodist Church, wake 10:00 – 11:30 a.m, followed by the funeral service in the sanctuary. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
Immediately following the service, all are invited to a Celebration of her Life at 337 Hill Street, Whitinsville, at the home of her granddaughter, Jami and her husband, Andy Flauto.. In lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be made to the Sutton Senior Center, Hough Road, Sutton, MA 01590. Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, Webster MA has been entrusted with the arrangements.
