Hana (Alinc) Zibridova (Zibrid), age 73, of Douglas, MA, died unexpectedly on Sunday, August 4, 2013 at Saint Vincent Hospital, Worcester. Her daughter was with her when she passed to our Lord.
Hana leaves one daughter, Hana Ballou; her beloved granddaughter, Ivy Ballou; her grandson, Ian Ballou and her son-in-law, Howard "Buzz" Ballou, all of Douglas; many friends, including her close friend, Braunda Ballou of Douglas.
Hana was born in Czechoslovakia and lived in Europe most of her life, moving to Douglas seven years ago. She is a survivor of the Nazi segregations of World War II. After escaping the Russian Invasion, her family immigrated to the United States and she proudly became an American citizen in 1977. She was a registered nurse in her homeland.
Hana enjoyed gardening, cooking and music. She was an accomplished pianist.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Sunday, August 11, 2013, from 12 noon to 2 pm in the Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, 48 School Street, Webster, with a prayer service at 1:45 pm. A memorial guestbook is available at www.shaw-majercik.com .
