Webster- Heidi E. Kunkel age 54 died at home after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer, Fri. May 15, 2015. She leaves 2 sisters, Dorinda and her husband Lewis Wintman of Providence, RI, Deborah and her husband Anthony George of Webster, 1 brother Jay and his wife Naomi Kunkel of Webster. She also leaves 2 beloved nephews, Patrick and Justin Kunkel of Webster.
She was born in Webster daughter of the late John J. and Elizabeth M. (Kane) Kunkel and lived here all her life. She was previous co-owner of the Century 21, Maher Realty Co in Auburn.
Heidi's passion was owning, showing and breeding morgan horses. She was recently inducted into the Morgan Horse Hall of Fame in New England. She won multiple World Championships with her Morgan Horses. She was a animal activest and rescuer. She rescued 25 mini horses and continues to maintain and care for them. She was involved with Morgan farms in Sutton and Portsmouth, RI.
A funeral will be held Tuesday, May 19, 2015 from the Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, 48 School St., Webster, MA with a Mass of Christian burial at 10 AM in St. Louis Church, Webster, MA and burial in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Webster, MA. Calling hrs at the funeral home will be Monday, May 18, 2015 from 5PM-8PM. Flowers may be sent or donations to the Manchaug Pond Foundation, PO Box 154,Manchaug, MA 01526.
