Helen R. (Dona) Matthews, age 88 of Webster, died Thursday, September 12, 2013 at Webster Manor.

Her husband, Raymond J. Matthews, died in 1998.  She leaves a brother, George W. Dona of Webster; a nephew, Paul Dona of Dudley; her nieces, Arlene Keegan of Shrewsbury, Lynn Wentworth of North Grosvenordale, Noreen Dona of Huntington Beach, CA and Carol Watrobo of Dudley; several great-nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by a brother, Christopher Dona of Webster.

Helen was born in Dudley, daughter of the late Yrackle and Gladys (Augustynkski) Dona and lived in Webster most of her life.  She was a graduate of Bryant College in Rhode Island and worked for many years for the Massachusetts Department of Public Welfare.

There are no calling hours.  A graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2013, at 9 am in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace Cemetery, Webster.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb Street, Webster, MA 01570.  Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, 48 School Street, Webster is directing arrangements.  A guest book is available at www.shaw-majercik.
