Putnam, CT – Herbert E. Long, 81, passed away peacefully at home with his loving family by his side on Monday September 27, 2021.

Herbert was born in Killingly, CT on September 6, 1940, son of the late Calvin and Alice (Strickland) Long; he worked for Ceppetelli Construction for many years, prior to his retirement and lived in Putnam all his life.

Herbert leaves behind his loving wife Rosemary M. (Mayo) Long, to whom he has been wed for over sixty years; his three sons: Herbert Long Jr. of Putnam, Richard Long of Florida, and Mark Long of Putnam; his daughter Kelly A. Taylor of Putnam; his sister Clara Sylvia; he also leaves eleven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends.  Herbert was predeceased by his brothers George Long and Clayton Long; four sisters: Caroline Murray, Alice Mailloux, Dot Benoit, and Martha Kemp.

Private funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home.
