Putnam, CT – Howard F. Donovan, 83, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday November 1, 2014.  He was predeceased  by his sister Marilyn D. Strickland of Attleboro, MA and survived by his niece Linda Kipper and her husband Larry Stone of Medfield, MA as well as his great niece, Samantha Stone.; he was predeceased by his sister Nancy Kipper of South Killingly, CT and  his nephew Keith Kipper of Putnam, CT.  Howard was born in Fall River, MA on November 18, 1930, son to the late Clifford and Mary (McMahon) Donovan and lived in Putnam, CT for most of his life; he was an avid reader with a passion for bowling as well as a proud and loyal fan of all Boston Sports Teams, especially the Red Sox; Howard was pleased to attend several games in his final years; He also enjoyed all his friends and staff members at the ARC of Quinebaug Valley.  There will be no calling hours.  A Committal Service will be held on Wednesday November 5, 2014 at 11 AM in St. Mary's Cemetery Putnam, CT., all those attending are requested to meet at the cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the ARC of Quinebaug Valley, 687 Cook Hill Rd.
