Jean Marie (Langlois) Moody 1945-2025
Jean Marie (Langlois) Moody, age 80, of Webster, died on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at Harrington Hospital in Southbridge.
Jean was born in Webster, daughter of the late Albert and Bertha (Vallencourt) Langlois. Over the years, Jean worked at B & W Footwear in Webster, Galileo Fibre Optics in Sturbridge, lastly retiring from Gentex in Dudley.
Known lovingly as "Mem" by most, and "Aunt Jean" by her adopted family, she enjoyed spending time with all of her family as well as cooking, listening to music, going to lunch with her many friends, as well as frequent travels to Hampton Beach for sea food and West Virginia to visit family. Everywhere she went, she made friends and was loved by all.
She was a communicant of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church in Webster and the Saint Anne Sodality.
Jean was predeceased by her ex-husband, Robert Moody as well as two sisters, Vivienne and Barbara and her son in law, Mark Fountain.
She is survived by her daughter, Corrine Fountain; a brother, Richard Langlois and a sister, Dian Langlois, both of Webster; two grandchildren, John Moody and Jennifer Fountain; three great-grandchildren, June, Jeremey and Jupiter Fountain.
In addition, Jean is survived by extended family members, her nephew and niece, Mont and Dawn Canterbury of Webster who took great care of her. Their daughter, Mikaela, her husband Tim and their son Julien of Brimfield.
Relatives and friends are invited to a graveside service for Jean on Friday, January 16, 2025, at 11 am in the Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery, Route 12, Webster. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Jean's favorite charity Saint Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. A memorial guest book is available at www.shaw-majercik.com. Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home & Cremation, 48 School Street, Webster, is honored to assist with Jean's arrangements.
