Joan M. (Garcia) Gouthro, age 80, of Oxford, was called home peacefully on November 19, 2016.

She leaves two daughters, Jennifer Gouthro of Worcester, Tracy Carrabba and her husband Michael of North Oxford; grand-daughters, Hanna and Mina; and many nieces and nephews.

She was born in Marlborough, daughter of the late Emil and Mildred (Braga) Garcia and lived in Marlborough before moving to Oxford 16 years ago.  She retired in 2002 from Adcole Corp, where she was an assembly technician in the Aerospace Div., manufacturing sun-sensor electronics.  She enjoyed cooking, baking, the beach, knitting, needlepoint, puzzles and was an avid fan of the Patriots and Red Sox.  One of her greatest joys was shopping and lunching with her granddaughters, who she was so proud of and loved dearly.  She as well had a great love for her family and friends.

Joan was a loving, kind, giving, compassionate, strong and beautiful soul. WE LOVE YOU - Joan, Mom, Grandma (GJ), Aunt, friend, we will miss you dearly.  May she rest in eternal peace. Until we embrace again...

There are no calling hours.  Graveside services in Saint Michael's Cemetery, Hudson, are private.  Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, 48 School Street, Webster has been entrusted with arrangements.
