John S. Minarik Jr. 1931-2025

Thompson – John S. Minarik Jr., age 93, passed peacefully Friday, January 17, 2025.

John was born in Thompson, CT, son of the late John S. and Victoria (Winski) Minarik Sr. and lived in Thompson all his life.  He retired from Tilcon, where he worked as a machine operator. John was also a snowplow operator.  He enjoyed farming, construction work (especially operating heavy equipment), gardening, spending time with friends and especially family. He was a friend to all.

John was predeceased by his loving wife, Rose (Borus) Minarik, who died on April 21, 2005.  He leaves his children, Francis Minarik and his wife Leslie of Thompson, Stephen Minarik of Acton, MA, Richard Minarik and his wife Lori of Thompson, Thomas Minarik and his wife Kimberly of Thompson, Patricia DeFilippo and her husband Vincent of Thompson; he has several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.  He was predeceased by his brother, Albert Minarik.

Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Friday, January 24, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, 48 School Street, Webster.  On Saturday, January 25, 2025, funeral services will begin at 8:30 am in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Saint Louis Church, 14 Lake Street, Webster.  Burial will follow in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace Cemetery, Webster. A memorial guestbook is available at www.shaw-majercik.com.
