Webster - John F. Przybylek, age 93, died Saturday, September 15, 2012, at Autumn Village in Worcester.
His wife of 62 years, Anna T. (Gawron) Przybylek died February 15, 2011. He leaves four sons, Francis Przybylek of Marietta, GA., Richard Przybylek of Seabeck, WA., Joseph Przybylek of Thompson, CT., and Thaddeus Przybylek of San Diego, CA.; one brother, Chester Przybylek of Webster; one sister, Anna Jankot of Putnam, CT.; 6 granchildren and 1 great-granchild.
John was born in Webster, son of the late Thaddeus and Mary (Niemiec) Przybylek and lived in Webster all his life. He was a retired machinist, having worked many years at Coppus Engineering in Worcester.
John was a World War II, United States Army veteran and served in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater of Operations, Guadal Canal and the Northern Solomons. During his service, John was awarded the Purple Heart for his injuries sustained on July 2, 1944. Additionally, he was awarded the Silver Star on July 22, 1944 and the Bronze Star, which was awarded on September 13, 1985 for meritorious achievement in ground combat against the armed enemy during World War II in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater of Operations.
He was a member of the American Legion, P.A.V., P.A.C.C., Booster AC, D.A.V., V.F.W., and was a long time member of the Webster-Dudley Veterans Council. Along with his fellow veterans, John provided military honors at many veteran funerals.
A military funeral, with honors provided by the Webster-Dudley Veterans Council, will be held on Wednesday, September 19, 2012, from the Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, 48 School Street, Webster, with a Mass at 10:00 am in Saint Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb Street, Webster. Burial will follow in Saint Joseph Garden of Peace Cemetery, Webster. Calling hours at the funeral home are Tuesday, September 18, 2012, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Saint Joseph Basilica.
