Obituary

John Clarke Waller Feb. 5, 1933- John, dearly beloved husband of Rae (Bialk), was born in Melbourne Australia.  Parents were Hector and Nancy (Bowes) Waller.  At age 14 he joined the Royal Australian Navy in Melbourne and studied to become an Electrical Engineer.  John served aboard HMAS Voyager as Deputy Electrical officer and HMAS Sydney during the Korean War.  After an honorable career he retired as commander and joined the Australian Government Service in Sydney where he worked until retirement in 1988.  John was instrumental in developing the anti-submarine missile for Australia. John moved to Ct. in 1988 where he was employed by Analysis and Technology and later by Autognomics, Inc.  While working, John attended New Haven University and acquired his Masters in Computer and Information Sciences. John contributed many articles to major electrical journals. John loved model trains and railroads and was active in the Mohegan Pequot Model Railroad Club serving as vice-president and as contributor to the newsletter. John was also a published author.  His most famous book was Two Ships. John will be greatly missed by his wife, Rae, his four sons and their spouses; David and Joanna Waller, Bernard Waller, Robert and Fiona Waller in Australia and Mark and Vicky Waller in Vietnam.  John will also be missed by stepchildren; Scot and Pilo Brown-Pilkes in The Netherlands, Lisa and Robert Laskarzewski  in Ct.  John leaves behind 11 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter and 1 great grandson. No calling hours.  A memorial service will be held Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the First Congregational Church of Plainfield. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery at a later date.  Omit flowers and donations may be made in his memory to the Center for Hospice Care, 227 Dunham St., Norwich, CT 06360.
