Joyce Frances Montague

1941 - 2025

Worcester – Joyce F. (Pollinger) Montague, 84, of Salisbury St., died Monday afternoon, August 11, 2025, at the Jewish Healthcare Center in Worcester. Longtime companion of the late Edwin J. Amiot. Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of the late Russell and Gertrude (McCully) Pollinger.

Joyce worked for many years as a waitress/mixologist at the Panda Lounge and was a Certified Nurse Assistant for many local nursing homes.

Joyce enjoyed spending her time doing jigsaw puzzles, word searches, reading, and playing her video poker games.

She especially enjoyed canning, card making and making gift baskets for the holiday season with her daughter.

She loved her daily updates from her best friend and nephew Brian who shared an incredible close bond.

She was of short stature and spunky personality.  She always said "Good things come in small packages", to us she was the best package of all.  She will be greatly missed and forever live in our hearts.

She is survived by her daughter, Annamarie McGowan and husband Keith of Campobello, SC; Her siblings, Janet Kahookele of TX, Charlotte Sanderson of CT, Peter Pollinger and wife Bonnie of NC; her grandchildren, Tyler McGowan and Amber Andrews; and her niece Kathy Brophy and her husband Stephen and their son Brian Brophy and Katie and Peter DiPersio. She was predeceased by her son, Edward Montague, and her siblings, Russell Pollinger, Daniel Pollinger, Patricia Malmquist, Phyllis Renard, Marlene Santoro, and Judith Smith.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a cemetery chapel service on Monday, September 8, 2025 at 11:00AM in Notre Dame Cemetery, 162 Webster St., Worcester, MA 01603-1951.
