He was born in Worcester, Massachusetts on February 17, 1930, the son of Keith and Bernice Corkum. Keith was a Professor of Economics at Nichols College in Dudley, Massachusetts for over 40 years. Keith loved his home in Dudley and spent much time watching the deer, arguing with the beaver, and always looking for and expecting to see a bear coming out of the woods.
