Lena (Basinet) Perry, age 96, of Pomfret Center, died Friday, August 9, 2013 at Regency Heights of Danielson.

Her husband of 40 years, Walter A. Perry died in 1975.  She leaves a son, Richard Perry of Pomfret Center; a daughter, Barbara Benoit of Putnam; 13 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.  She was predeceased by a son, Walter Perry Jr. of Quinebaug; two daughters, Alice Murphy of Thompson and Anna St. Martin of Danielson; two sisters, Agnes and Eda; and by a step-brother.

She was born in Putnam, daughter of the late Arthur and Agnes (Lamiothe) Basinet.  She retired from Bates Shoe.

Private graveside services will be held in Munyan Cemetery, East Putnam.  There are no calling hours.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of the donors choice.  Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, 48 School Street, Webster, MA is directing arrangements.  A memorial guestbook is available at www.shaw-majercik.com.
