Leo O. Poitras, age 83 of Fitchburg, died Sunday, May 11, 2014 at Leominster Hospital.

He leaves two half-brothers, Roger Rheault of Lunenburg and Robert Rheault of Fitchburg; a sister, Lucille Poitras of Fitchburg; a cousin, Richard L. Robillard of Worcester; many nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was predeceased by his nine siblings.

He was born in Fitchburg, son of the late Euclide and Matilda (Bedard) Poitras and lived there most of his life.  He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in the Korean conflict.  He was a staff accountant at Fort Devens for many years and was also a painting contractor.  He had a love for feeding birds.

Graveside services will be held Friday, May 23, 2014 at 1 pm in Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, Winchendon.  There are no calling hours.  Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, 48 School Street, Webster is directing arrangements.  A guest book is available at www.shaw-majercik.com
