Leon F. Fisher 1946 – 2026

Leon F. Fisher, age 79, beloved husband of Cheryl I. (Gardner) Fisher, died on Thursday, July 9, 2026, just one day prior to his 80th birthday.

Leon was born in Westhampton, Massachusetts, son of the late Alfred and Arettia (Arnold) Fisher and lived in Orange before moving to Brookfield 35 years ago.  A lumberjack by profession, Leon worked for many years at Custom Pallets in Brookfield.  He enjoyed woodworking, farming, gardening and traveling.  Some of his favorite times were the vacations he and Cheryl took together.

Leon was proud of his 47 years of sobriety and was an AA sponsor to many.

Leon is survived by his wife of 35 years, Cheryl I. (Gardner) Fisher of West Brookfield; their son, Michael Palczynski and his wife Michelle of Cherry Valley; his sister, Sally Bagdonas and her husband Joe of Orange; many nieces and nephews.  Leon was predeceased by his brothers, Alfred M. Fisher Sr., William Fisher Sr.,  Erving Fisher Sr., Dalton Fisher Sr., David Fisher Sr., Raymond Fisher and Bucky Fisher; and by two sisters, Monafay Allen and Alice Chuhralya.

Graveside services for Leon will be held at a later date at Pine Grove Cemetery, West Brookfield.  There are no calling hours.  Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home & Cremations, 48 School Street, Webster has been entrusted with Leon's arrangements.  A memorial guest book is available at www.shaw-majercik.com and on the Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home Facebook page.
