Leonard F. "Lenny)" Wisnewski, 92, of Webster MA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at UMASS Memorial University Campus after a short illness, with his children by his side.
Leonard was born in Webster, April 22, 1928 to Joseph F. & Julia V. (Pakulski) Wisnewski and lived in Webster his entire life.His wife of 56 years, Jacqueline A. (Hoenig) Wisnewski, died March 2009. They were married January 1953 at St. Louis Church, Webster MA.
Leonard leaves his daughter, Julianne Ostrowski and her husband, Lenny Ostrowski of Webster, MA, his son, Matthew Wisnewski and his partner, Phyliss Morgan-Belt of Webster, MA. Ikey also leaves his grandchildren, Angela L. Jankowski and her husband Todd, of North Grosvenordale, CT, Amy B. Brissenden and her husband Joel, of Hanover, MA, Amanda K. Ostrowski of Baltimore, MD, Andrew Ostrowski and his wife Erin, of Greenfield, MA, Laura Canty of Rutland, MA and Lisa Gajewski of Dudley, MA, great-grandchildren, Jake, Sam, Ella-Rae, Sadie, Jack, Sawyer, Alex, Angela, Robert, Vicki, Ashlee, Jon, Christopher and his partner Jamilia, Connor, Brianna, Kayla, Julia, Lauren and Jenna, and his great-great grandchildren, Lyla, Raina, and Ella, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Leonard was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy and served on the USS Ault (DD-698). He was employed as an overhead lineman for Nation Grid until his retirement in 1990, was a past member of the Webster Fire Department and devout Parishioner of St. Louis Church, Webster, MA
Leonard loved his family and always made sure they were taken care of. He enjoyed the many trips with his wife, Jackie, to Hawaii, Aruba & California, summer family vacations in Wellfleet, as well as trips to Foxwoods and enjoyed his Key Lime Pie.
The family would like to thank the staff at UMASS University Campus ICU & Comfort Care Units for their care and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Worcester County Food Bank, 474 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury MA 01545 or the Alzheimer's Association.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday February 8, 2021 at 10:00 am in St. Louis Church, 15 Lake Street Webster; Committal with Military Honors will follow in St. Joseph's Garden of Peace in Webster. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home.
